One of the effects of the conference was issuing several publications, including one in english. Those publications are available freely in Google Books.
This publication presents the opportunities for and constraints to the organization’s development in the information society. In the conditions of the prolonged economic crisis it is necessary to seek new opportunities for the organization’s development and improvement. The proven models ensuring sustained growth turn out to be ineffective in the new business environment. Moreover, new solutions, as yet, have not been satisfactorily developed.
The objective of this book is to present the theoretical and methodological concepts that could contribute to modelling and testing new solutions in the area of organizational development. These concepts relate to various fields of activity carried out by companies, service providers, agencies and other institutions. They focus on the following areas: strategic management, organizational structures, the multidimensional assessment of organizational effectiveness, knowledge and information management as well as IT management support tools.
The publication is composed of 16 chapters which present selected concepts and solutions in the area of organizational development. Some of the chapters focus on methodological issues, while the others discuss the empirical aspects of the analysed problem. However, special attention is given to the opportunities for and barriers to organizational development in the information society. The discussed concepts can be considered both by management theoreticians and the management practitioners who strive to improve and develop their organizations.
This publication marks the 20th Anniversary of the Management Process Department of Cracow University of Economics.
